Finally, finally I managed to sleep really really late I didn't get up until 7.15! Yahoooo! It was 9 before DH and the kids got up though!
A relaxing morning watching Wimbledon and typing up some more of my trip notes. The plan for the day was to go to Walmart this morning and Wet n Wild this afternoon.
We finally left the house about 11 and headed down the 27 to Walmart at Haines City. We spent about three hours there. DD and I went off and bought a few bits and pieces a swimming costume and some undies for me and some earrings for her. I wasn't overly impressed with the place though and didn't think it was as cheap as I'd been led to believe.
In the meantime, DH and the boys were holed up in the music department and came out quite a few dollars lighter having bought CDs and DVDs. I did manage to buy a new school bag for DS2. It's on wheels which will certainly be good for him considering the huge amount of books he has to cart backwards and forwards to school every day.
We then went into the food department. Give me Publix any day. No, I really didn't like Walmart's food department and found their prices also more expensive than Publix.
We got back to the house at 2.30 and discovered that DS2 had lost his watch. He thought he'd put it down in Walmart to try on a wrist band that he'd bought himself. We were all a bit fractious by this time and nobody could be bothered going back but it's a good watch and we didn't want to just write it off. We left DS1 and DD at the house while we drove back for half an hour with DS2 to look for it.
Fortunately someone had very kindly found it and handed it into customer relations and we were soon out of there again! Now DH just happened to remember that he'd promised a colleague a favour! Said colleague uses some kind of obscure cream that can only be found in about half a dozen places in the whole wide world! Seriously though she'd very "kindly" been into the website and printed out a map and the addresses of two stores "near" Orlando that stocked the cream. One was miles and miles north of Orlando and the other just happed to be in Haines City weren't we the lucky ones!
So DH said "whilst we're here so close to Haines City let's just see if we can find it". An hour later we were still driving around trying to find the damn place at which point I really lost my cool and asked him what the colleague had done up until now bought it via the internet? Probably well she can bloomin' well buy the next one from there too as I'm not spending any more of my holiday driving around looking for a needle in a haystack.
It was about 4.30 when we got back to the house and no-one had had any lunch so after a hastily thrown together "lupper" it was obvious that we weren't going to get to Wet n Wild that day.![]()
We decided to try our luck with the Congo River Crazy Golf again on the 192 and because it was still early we pretty much had the place to ourselves. This place was so much nicer than the Bonanza that we'd been to last week and even better because I won this time!
We also managed to win a free round but unfortunately we never did have time to get back to take them up on it. We watched the alligators for a short while and when the rain came on we decided to head back home for an early night as it was another early start tomorrow for EPCOT. The weather forecast is not good though.
