Check in day before flight

Hi

We fly with Direct Holidays from Gatwick to Florida in August and have just received a letter stating that we can check in the day before the flight between 4pm and 10pm.

We want to do this and have just booked to stay in the Travelodge at Gatwick Airport for the night before and will check in the day before but i was just wondering. Do they take all of your luggage when you book in the day before? How does it work? Is it really worth doing?

We use the Twilight checkin with Virgin so assume this is working the same way in which case it is worth it as they take your bags and issue boarding passes so in the morning you only have to be at airport an hour before your flight (that time may vary with airline). You only have hand luggage in the morning then.

We also use the twilight check in with Virgin and this is a definate plus. Makes the day of your departure much better and you only then have the annoyance of the long wait at immigration when you arrive.

The one thing to remember with twilight check-in. which is wonderful. is that you ALL have to turn-up for the twilight check-in, don't leave children behind.

Make sure you have all medical supplies and clean set of underwear/toilet requisites in hand luggage.
