Florida doesn't tend to have that much choice in the way of duvet covers in the shops as they go mainly for either comforters or bedspreads (both quilted but non-removable covers). There are some duvets and duvet covers for sale but make sure that the sizes are the same as in the UK and fit the rest of your bedlinen.

Check out an online store like www.walmart.com or www.target.com to sort out the sizes and the sort of things available.

It's been covered before, but remember the sizes.

    UK Single = US Twin
    UK Double = US Full
Queen and King are the same. California King is just huge!

They tend to market comforters rather than Duvets covers in the US. We bought some nice comforters sets in Florida, then put them into Vacuum space saver bags which we got from Walmart. They then fitted into our suitcase and one of them was a 6 foot kingsize complete with pillows.

I bought duvet covers for our WtP room here in the UK and took them out with us - then had to buy comforters for our next trip out as the US comforters are wider and longer than ours.

I bought lovely WtP ones from here:

and they have a nice range of Eeyore things as well.

US people do not use duvet cover that much.

You might get some lovely padded wall hangings of Eeyore in the US though. I saw some on a recent trip, but can't think which store they were in [msnembarrased]

I've been buying "Bed in a bag" sets for years now. We bought ourselves a 6' bed and the sets are perfect for summer use but I had to buy a down comforter for the winter. Beds Bath & Beyond $100 but I don't like the covers as they have buttons as fasteners. Much prefer English duvet covers with poppers. Didn't realise that they differed so much in size.

I always look in Burdines (Macey's) when I'm over as they normally have good deals on bedding, last visit King size pillows for $9.99. One year I managed to get some single down comforters complete with pillows on special offer (also they have the visitors discount of 11%). The covers I get in Ross.
