    Little Britain

I'm watching the television while I'm reading the forums (who says men can't multitask)--anyway I'm watching Little Britain on UK Gold +6 or something and I've always wondered whether it has ever been seen in the States and what the Americans made of it with the bizarre voiceover and irreverent comments etc--Anybody any thoughts?

If it was to go down as well the The Office then our American cousins probably wouldn't get it.

Its on BBC America..we give most of the Brit shows we have on DVD to American friends to watch...and they get the jokes well enough most of the time..they like the Brits ones better than the US remakes...

Its shown on ABC here in Australia and has grown in popularity.
Some things 'whoosh' over peoples heads here, like the names of the estates, and celebrities guest starring, as they aren't known, but its still a huge hit!
I love it! Some things gross me out, but mostly it has me cracking up, I love love love Vicky Pollard!

It is indeed based on a teenager from Bristol.
Matt Lucas who plays her studied in Bristol so that's obviously where he got his inspiration from......

Had friends who came down from Manchester earlier in the year and when asking for some directions to the hotel, got them in full 'Vicky Pollard' which amused them no end.

Have to say I really cannot stand this programme. However, I do greatly admire David Walliams for swimming the channel the other week for Sports Aid and in setting such a great time for someone who is not a professional sportsman. The amount of time and effort he put in showed real dedication.

Go to the Outback restaurant behind the Premium Outlets, and there is a waiter who thinks the show is fantastic. All the while he was taking our order he slipped into the voices - Ann, Vicky Pollard were his favourites. He is married to a Brit so that may explain it. If you hate the show it may be best to check he is not serving you though!
