Just watched it too on the TV - just a couple more days and I would have been able to see it for real

Glad they have arrived back safely especially after yesterday with the problem they were experiencing.

Mrs Pegasus watched it on the NASA channel on the PC - and had been since about dinner time. It was interesting to see how the control centre were informing the crew as to distance/time and speed.
    Good they're back safely anyway

Good news they arrived home safely after a near perfect mission from all accounts.

Had an email from Kennedy yesterday to say it's now all go for Atlantis on Aug 28th and tickets will be on sale from 9am EST tomorrow (Wed) morning. Good news is we arrive 25th so hopefully will get to go see it but won't go to space center but Cocoa Beach, Jetty Park or the Causeway.

I must admit I never used to find it interesting but my brother has worked in the Space Sciences Research Dept at Kent University for 17 years and has worked on many projects with Nasa and Esa, so he helps to make sense of a lot of it. He worked on the Cassini project to Saturn which we were lucky enough to see the launch of in 97 and it was fascinating watching it on the news in 2004 when it finally arrived and couldnt believe it had been 7 years.

He's currently working on something to do with a satellite or probe which is going to be smashed into the moon around Christmas. He works with an impact gun which can replicate the high velocity etc they obviously need. He was also involved with another probe which was blasted at (I think it was Mars).

Will that be deliberate, or another NASA "metres vs yards" confusion?
