Dinner Shows

In all the years we've gone, we've never tried any of these. There's Medieval Times, Arabian nights, Dixie Stampede et al.

My question is fairly simple - are any of them worth seeing? Need to bear in mind, the reason we haven't gone so far is that we had an impression (possibly erroneously) that they're all a bit tacky and over-hyped.

So, should we give any of them a go? If so, which? Or were we right and they really are a bit naff? Kids are 4,8,12,15. (We haven't done Cirque du Soleil yet either, but we will remedy that this trip).

We did Pirates DEcember 2005. Quite a few of the children get to join in bits of this. Food was average but show was good. There was a short pre show bit. The main show and meal (approx 1 hour) and then the disco after.

Glad to hear the show was good Chris as we are going to see it with some friends at Christmas.[msnsmile]

I havnt been to any of the shows either, but from what I have heard from people that have been, they are ok so long as you dont expect the food to be much good.

The age of your kids, I should imagine they will enjoy the shows though and I suppose it is a bit different than a normal meal out or visiting the theme parks.

We went to Arabian Nights in December and we all had a good time. We have 3 girls aged 6,8 and 13.

I've just asked my incredibly hard to please 13 year old if she would go again and she said "yes, I enjoyed it" and that's good enough for me!

We enjoyed the Arabian Nights, a couple of years ago, but my favourite has to be Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede - the food was really good, and the beer, wine and soft drinks really were "endless". Plus the show itself was excellent. We will go back to this one again

we did the pirates one in march 05 and it was a good night out, the food was average to ok

we sat at the front for which you pay a few dollars extra but it guarantees interaction for the children

the boys loved dressing up and fighting the pirates and they both received certificates at the end of the show for helping to defeat the baddie

you are designated a pirate based on your seating area when you arrive and ours was the purple pirate

surprisingly he was from the uk and he happily posed for photos with the boys, oh yes and for the mums too[msnwink] well he was a bit of a dish[msnsmile2]

Went Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede ages ranging from forty something to ten and every one enjoyed it the food was pretty good and loads of it.The Kids joined in with a couple of the races and got medals and as long as you enjoy them for what they are I`m sure you will have fun.

We've never been to one, but I would say that when you look at the amount of things to do in Florida they would have to be reasonably good for them to survive the competition.
If they were that tacky, and the food was that bad, they would have died out a long time ago.

We have done Arabian Nights, and the show was very good, with fairly average food.

IMHO Cirque du Soleil is streets above them all.
