how big is a quart?

simply how big is a quart in english money! i have a packet of gatorade from the ny marathon and the kids want to mix it up but not sure how much water to put in - anyone?[sporty]

I thought it was 2 pints. But I may be wrong.

a quart is 2 pints a quater of 1 gallon.

Don't forget a US pint is not quite the same as an English pint, I'm sure there mus tbe a converter somewhere on the net, I can never remember which way it goes if it's bigger or smaller than ours.

1 pint [US, liquid] = 0.832 674 188 pint [UK]

So if you multiply that by 2 it works out to 1.6653482 UK pints or just under 1 and 3/4.

Must admit I cheated and bought home a US measuring jug and cups for the pancake and muffiin mixes I bring home.
