I have just heard that Florida has a tax free week starting 24th July, does anyone have any information about it. Thanks

Yes, it's for school supplies so kids' clothing, stationery, that sort of thing. Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to anything else.

Its very useful if you are buying your children new trainers as they are included. It also works for my wife who has small feet and fits the childrens sizes.
One thing we have noticed in previous years is to make sure they give it to you, as sometimes they 'forget' because of the accent.

Graham - wish I was there - same small feet problem as your wife!

This government here wouldn't give you any such kind of break, even though parents could do with it!

But in the US they have to buy everything for school, the school supplies nothing.
Paul's right. In the UK you already get the break. Here we have to buy the kid's paper and pencils. My 14 year old takes band. We have to rent/buy the instruments. My 12 year old plays tennis. We buy the equipment.
The tax free week comes in very handy.
