discount for senior citizens

Is there are any discounts to any of the theme parks for senior citizens? Both my parents are going with us to the theme parks; they are in both in their seventies. ]

I am not aware of any specific discounts offered to senior guests.

The only thing that I would say is that, even if your parents are very active, they might find a few days at the Theme Parks very tiring.

One thing that might be worth considering is hiring a wheelchair to get them around more easily.

And before they get too offended, at being pushed around the parks, wheelchaired guests and their party, get to go straight to the front of the line - so no waiting in line

Therefore you can all get some benefit.

No discounts for theme parks but lots of other discounts! Most restaurants have a senior menu (usually on the back of the main menu) which usually says smaller portions but, as the portions are much larger than you would normally get in the UK, they probably won't notice any difference.

Lots of places (even shops) have senior discounts but don't advertise them so, don't be shy, ask! Remember that 'senior' means 50 or 55 upwards in USA...

The parks only offer (slight) discounts for children.

We had a couple of seniors with us last year and had planned to get the electric wheelchair/cart type vehicles to make walking around the parks a bit easier for them. That idea lasted about 5 minutes after one lost control (they (the cars not the pensioners) take some getting used to) and decided to attack a rubbish bin on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.

Thankfully the Disney staff were very understanding and we got a full refund (including the deposit).

As for restaurants, some have special menus, some give discounts and some give free drinks/desserts to seniors.

I'll have to remember this one next time my parents come out with us . There's usually so much waste from the large portions, it makes sense to have a smaller portion and pay accordingly.

Also don't expect to always go to the front of the line if you have a wheelchair in your party. That used to happen without fail years ago-but now I'm afraid you will often find yourself queuing along with everyone else.

If you do go straight to the front then treat it as a bonus!

I also read somewhere that this bonus for wheelchair users was being used unscrupulously by some people who had no need for a wheel chair, which may be why it is not happening so frequently. I am not sure, but I wonder if the rides are being better designed for people with mobility problems.

My son was sick while away....and at Disney they give him a wheelchair...I told the people he was just using it because he'd been ill..and that his mobility was fine he was just very tried...but they still took us to the head of the line....it would be a pity if that kind of service goes because of a just few people....

I can confirm Busch Gardens give a senior discount (55+), My mum got a $10 refund when
we went last week on her ticket, Also found the discount in a few of the discount books
that you find all over the place

Always ask for a senior discount, we did and always got one even though it was not advertised.
