day 1 - travel to LGW, use twilight check-in for virgin economy flight. stayed in the holiday inn at gatwick overnight, warm, clean and comfortable. up at 5 to get everything ready for the trip ahead, got to the airport - walked passed 200yds of virgin check in queues straight to breakfast - twilight check-in is a must !
reasonable flight although disapppointed with the 747 we flew in, head rest tv's were poor quality and no games, i believe the gatwick fleet is older and the inclination to upgrade it is less due to the high demand. we'll shop around perhaps next time (and I won't have so many air miles to redeem).
car pick up with dollar was painless, the sat nav they gave us had been set up incorrectly. it was in demo mode and simply repeated expected directions instead of actual directions based on where we physically were. this meant we ended up on our way to miami on the Florida turnpike instead of on our way to Highlands reserve and the pool !
got top the villa at a reasonable time (about 8), opened the door and walked into a fantastic environment. I don't want to publish the name of the villa here but if anyone wants to know please dm me. we were hugely impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of everything about it, no complaints whatsoever.
