One of the other homeowners said her daughters which was recently renewed was biometric.

They change things al the time with them, my daughter who will be 21 next August (hers runs out in July next year) has to apply for her first "adult" 10 year passport this time, in addition to providing her birth certificate, as she was born after 1982, we have to provide her entitlement to UK passport so have to provide either my birth certificate (and both must be the "full" birth certificate not the short version) or her Dads and our marriage certificate. This is despite having had her own passport since she was a baby. I know many people who would not be able to provide their parents birth certificates so don't know how they get over that one?

I hope they don't add fingerprint recognition as well, at least with the facial biometrics, they can take it from the photo whereas fingerprints would mean a trip somewhere (and more expense) to get them taken I would imagine.
