    itineray help

Hi, need some advice off you good people[msnsmile2]

Here goes, me and my family 3adults 4 children, 16,15,11 and 8, will be travelling to Florida next year on the 5th July, which is a Thursday, we wont arrive at our villa until early evening, I think we land about 4.30 local time. So what I wanted to ask was, as we won't be doing much the first day/night, I know we will awake early next morning on the Friday and be very tired perhaps around afternoon, just wanted suggestions as to what we could do? I have read a lot of topics and it seems to be quite clear not to do parks on a weekend, so I am thinking If we don't do a park on the Fri, Sat or Sunday that is 3 days of our 2 week hol over, I know the kids will be dying to get to the parks and see the characters, especially my brothers 2 daughters as they have never been before and are really excited[msnsmile2] As we all are.

Hope you understand what I am trying to say [msnscared] any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks[msnsmile2]

I would do a park that first day, make the most of the fact that you're up early (especially the teenagers!) - but would recommend MGM, it's not too big so you can get round it fairly easily - you can always pop back to the villa for a siesta in the afternoon and then go back for Fantasmic. Unlike MK or Epcot fireworks it's much quicker and easier to get out of the park when the display finishes so it's not a mega late night. We always find it's a good idea to try and be out that first evening as you're body clocks adjust more quickly.

Not sure you will be able to do much on the first evening other than go out for a meal. You will be tired after the long flight but try and stay up as long as possible.
We always have a rest the day after by the pool but i do know alot of people like to start on the parks on the first day.
Carolines suggestion of MGM would be a good place to start on the Friday and if you feel up to it try another park on the Saturday.
We try and do one day at the parks and one day by the pool or shopping.

That sounds good, Fantasmic is one of my favourite shows and the girls will also see a lot of the characters in that one show, thanks for that. The rest of the family think I am mad planning what to do this far in advance but I think the more I try and plan things now, the better for everyone when we get there. Hopefully it will then be appreciated.[msneek]

Busch is an hours drive away you may not feel like it. I would suggest IOA or Universal or one of the Disney Parks. We always find Tuesdays or Thursday quieter at Busch. For your first evening I would just unpack enjoy the pool at the villa and a meal.

i would agree with Caroline, hit the parks but one of the smaller ones like mgm or seaworld perhaps

or if the kids want an immediate character fix why not book a character brekkie for one of those first days, it's a good way to introduce the children to the size of the characters without the overwhelming crowds around them and of course this means you get lots of pictures without having to queue (the grand floridian is nice as is chef mickeys in the contemporary resort)
you can book from the uk up to 90 days in advance before on 001-407-939-3463

and finally you can also use the weekend / parks busy? as a good excuse to shop[msnwink]

We always seem to go to Seaworld on the first day. It is much more relaxing, and never seems to be heaving even at weekends.

We've never eally found tiredness a problem when we arrive there - it's coming home that the jet-lag seems to hit hard. We always waken early the first morning and just so excited and raring to go - there's so much to do out there that you just have to go for it. You have to make the most of your time there - every day is precious and seems to pass too fast!! On the day we arrive we usually head straight to the villa and unpack, then take a trip to Walmart or Publix to stock up on breakfast stuff, snacks, plenty soft drinks, beer and wine, then either out for something to eat or just a takeaway.

If your planning to do Animal Kingdom I would choose this as the first day as it closes fairly early.

Agree with Sea world as a weekend choice, it is much more relaxed as there are only 2 rides to queue for the rest of the time you can have a sit down and watch the various shows.
