honestly and truly i don't think you eat enough Julie B and do you vary your food much because that may be part of the problem

this is what i would have had as such to fit your food into a SW plan (just for comparison this would be a green day)

    28gm porridge 1 healthy B

mid morning or whenever the munchies strike a snack of fruit or vlf yogurt or both

113gm tin of tuna in brine (1healthy B) with the horseradish (1 level tbsn = 1syn)
huge jacket spud with lots of salad

    mid afternoon snack on fruit

huge and unlimited quorn curry made syn free with chopped tin tomatoes and curry powder, seasonings (whatever you fancy putting in it really) with SW chips and or rice

and maybe a chcolate treat such as mini honeycomb or chocolate bites 4 syns or a curly wurly 6.5syns

total syns would be 7.5 with the curly wurly and you normally use between 10-15per day so hey you would even have enough for a glass of wine (5syns)if you wanted one

now do you think your still eating enough?

    forgot to add Julie B

the baked spud, salad, fruit, yogurt, SW chips, rice and curry are all available in an unlimited amount (free foods) and that's not to say you eat so much that you make yourself ill, it just means that you never have to go hungry[clap][clap]

you also have to include milk or cheese in as an healthy A so that's the coffee covered or maybe some cheese on your baked spud? instead of tuna

I do tend to stick to the same foods because again, it feels safe if I know what I'm eating, I can become blinkered and that keeps me on the straight and narrow. The thing is, I have absolutely no desire to eat badly when my head is in the right place and really want to suceed so I guess its fear of failure or losing control that makes me eat the same things. I did think though that even though its the same ol stuff, its quite balanced, carbs for brekkie, protien and vegs for lunch and tea with small amount of carbs, and a bit, but probably not enought fruit and water.

Oh and seeing what you can have, no I don't think I am eating enough![msntongue], I think maybe I should go along to my local SW class. Maybe the problem is I'm trying to many plans combined, (calories and low fat etc). I watched a bit of you are what you eat tonight - the lady on there said eat 7 times a day! but it must of worked cos the lady following the plan lost 3 stone (not sure in how long - missed that bit!).

Well I'm off to bed now, got to be up at 5.45 for more[sporty][sporty]on the treadmill!! Thanks for your help mizzy[:X]

    Goodnight everyone[zzz][zzz].

Julie b, I agree with Mizzy again and also I know what you mean about safe foods but you can't sustain that type of eating forever boredom will be your downfall, also you will not get all the vitamins and minerals yoou need from eating the same food day in day out. SW is the only plan that you get get free on referal from your GP as its very healthy and auto low fat low sugar and low calorie so even though you can eat lots you don't feel hungry but you do lose weight[msnwink]

Please just go an buy the latest mag thats in the shops and read page 110 "Myths and Magic" written by the founder and chairman of SW - it will explain how it works a little more and its also full of great recipes[msnwink]

[i]You may have tried obsessive calorie or point counting, calculating portion sizes, eating nothing but cabbage soup or living on grapefruit and eggs. Didn’t work, did it?
We guarantee you need never put yourself through any of that again. They don’t work because by and large they create hunger, boredom and an unhealthy focus on food. They create a mind trap that leads to the eventual failure of yet another ‘diet’ and the inevitable loss of self-esteem and self-confidence in your ability to succeed, when you are not to blame at all! You didn’t fail on the diet – the diet failed you!

At Slimming World, DIET (Dare I Eat That?) is considered a 'four letter word'! With Food Optimising no food or drink is forbidden so the variety is endless and there’s plenty to eat!

Food Optimising is a highly successful weight loss technique which will show you how to develop your own personalised, healthy, delicious, filling, weight loss and weight maintenance strategy for life.
Just because Food Optimising has been made deceptively easy and user-friendly, don't be fooled into thinking that the scientific concepts behind this amazing way of eating are themselves simple.

The energy density of a food can be summed up as the amount of calories given off by a specific weight of food.
Proteins and complex carbohydrates give off less than half the calories supplied by fats. This, combined with their great satiating properties, produce a synergistic effect that makes make proteins and complex carbohydrates amazing beneficial to a slimmer.

Even though Food Optimising naturally lowers your calorie intake, you will never need to count, calculate or compute a single calorie value. Uniquely, Food Optimising takes into consideration not just the calorific value of the food but how well it satisfies our appetite too.

Satiation is the term used to describe the satisfying qualities of a food. Foods that are highly satiating make you feel fuller quicker, at the time of eating.

Satiety describes the lasting effects of satiation, in other words, foods with a high satiety are those foods that stave off hunger for the longest.

In 1996, research sponsored by Slimming World at the Rowett Institute in Aberdeen, Scotland, found that there was a hierarchy within the macro-nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates and fats). Proteins and (complex) carbohydrates were found to have much greater satiation and satiety than fats. Foods rich in these nutrients satisfy hunger and suppress appetite in the most effective way.

Forget putting your life and your health at risk with invasive surgery like stomach stapling; forget drugs that interfere with your body and your minds natural, healthy functions. This completely natural and completely effective way to suppress appetite works – 100%!

Whilst the nutritional aspect of slimming is vital to any slimming plan, the psychological aspect is equally important for long-term success. Slimming World was the first slimming club in the UK to consider the practical and psychological needs of slimmers, and understands how important psychology is in providing a practical solution to the problems of being overweight.

Slimming World's stroke of genius is its concept of Free Food, formulated specifically to avoid feelings of deprivation and the need to rebel. We know that it’s no good telling people t

One of my favourites too - I agree Julie, I found it much easier on my knees than using the treadmill all the time.

Really works up a sweat (sorry glow) [msnwink] [msnwink]
