We also went 20th December (on my daughters birthday), she said it was the best day of her life, bless her, it really was magical, and although she did the dolphin swim, my youngest was too young at the time, and he too enjoyed every minute - and it wasn't too cold!

Although we really enjoyed the dolphin swim, we would all happily go back again without doing it. The best part of the day for all of us was actually swimming in the lagoon with all the fish and rays - we could easily have spent the whole time just doing that - or going along the lazy river, or paddling with the rays, or going through the aviary......

We were there in August, and it was quite a dull, coolish day so I was pleased to have my wetsuit on. The water has to be fairly cool all the time because of the fish.

Well can you just wander around and please yourself? Or is there set times that you are allowed in with the fish and rays?
    Thanks

Vicky, apart from the Dolphin swim, you can do the rest whenever you choose, the beauty of Discovery Cove is that they limit the number of people on each day so it doesn't feel crowded, and makes for a very relaxing time

The rays and tropical fish are in there own separate lagoon.
In the pic below the ray pool is at the front - the fish are behind in the lagoon with the shipwreck (there are sharks in the wreck - but they can't get you because of the safety glass) [msnscared]

The next pic shows the pool that is the start and end point for the lazy river. This water felt like bath water it was so warm (the fish obviously like it colder) and underneath the waterfall is a big cave for you to go exploring in.

If you do the dolphin swim, and there is a member of your party that isn't, it might be an idea to ask them to do the pics and video. The Cove ones are good but they are very expensive.

    Hi
We did discovery cove back in April of this year
Simply great was our opinion, everything about the park was impressive
I like plants (sad i know) they were very beautiful
The food was very good and the snacks and drinks were avaialble throughout the day
We did get our loungers at the beginning of the day and put on our towels etc to save them for later as it did get quite packed
    Enjoy[clap][clap]

And the food? The website says you get breakfast, lunch and snacks , is this right, it seems very good value for money, so what is the food like? Exactly how does this work? Do you have a food/drink voucher?
    Thanks again.

You don't need a voucher because everyone that pays the entrance fee gets the same deal on food.
When we were there it was just dinner that was included, but I think they have taken on board some of the comments left by guests about making food/drinks available all day.
The food itself was first rate in my opinion. Even the kids ate it all up - which is saying something for my 2.

When we visited all the food for the day was included
Breakfast was a buffet, cereal, pastries etc and lots of drinks
When we had our main meal there was a good choice, i seem to remember my husband had a salmon steak in some kind of sauce, i had chicken and i think the children had burgers with chips and corn on the cob
There were a choice of sweets also and drinks again
Throughout the day we could get crisps, an assortment of snacks, ice creams and even the Bud was free!!!!
It is an expensive day but we found it very good value as we didn't pay for one thing all day long
    You'll have a great time[clap]
