Orlando - Key West

Hello chaps
Have had an enquiry from a collegue of Lee's who would like to know if there are flights available from Orlando area down to Key West.
Are they likely to be very expensive - don't suppose there is someone like Jet Blue that does this kind of thing?

We stayed down in Key West at Christmas. As far as I know they go from Miami to Key West. they are a small hopper type plane. Not sure of the airline though.

Scratch that just did a search on expedia, and Continental/United and American Airlines go from Miami to Key West and its a beechcraft 1900

Jan it costs an absolute fortune on the small planes.

I know CDV - I have had a look for them and it seems to be about $349 from Orlando - KW or $186 to Miami and then drive.
Personally I do not think they will have enough time to squeeze this trip onto the end of the work trip- but hey ho, I said I would check it out

It was around $900 when we looked, another option is to sail from Fort Myers, that is a 3 hour drive and then maybe same again to KW, they could stay a couple of days and then sail back. Better deal that flying.

You could fly southwest from Orlando to Fort Myers and then take the shuttle as CDV suggested, but might involve an overnight stay.

Their fares for a OW journey start at $29 but not sure if it's worth it by the time you've checked in etc.

Continental use 19 seat Beech 1900s. Not the best aircraft especially in the summer storms. Delta use 37 and 50 seat Embraer jets. Good safe and fast jets.
