Flight Price Advice Please ! ( updated )

We are going for the first time October 2007 - I have found flights at £646 each - does this sound reasonable, or I am better holding off ?
I had hoped to fly Virgin, but thier flights aren't available yet - do you think if I waited they would come in cheaper ?

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Thanks

hi, are you wanting to fly direct or indirect? Indirect can be a lot cheaper. We are going to from Manchester to MCO via Chicago this October .I booked direct with American Airlines as soon as the seats went on sale and got a geat deal--£360 plus tax of approx £60.Try doing a search on the various airlines sites, you may get a beter deal.

I'm a bit surprised you can find fares for that far in advance and you won't find American Airlines fares for that time until around November 2006. It sounds a bit high to me but if it's half term weeks then it isn't going to be cheap.

I'd wait and see but it isn't me who's going of course[msnwink]

Scheduled flights are normally released 270 days!! I think before departure.

You may well find a cheaper scheduled flight if you choose to fly indirect. Also it depends which UK airport you want to travel from.

We have flown with numerous airline from both Gatwick, Bristol and Cardiff. Virgin.BA.Continental.Mytravel.

LEt us know a bit more and we will be happy to help more.

I would wait longer, but if the timing covers October Half term, they will be higher.

That sounds a bit pricey for October Diane, or is it school holidays? I would say wait until nearer the time.

The flights are from Glasgow and would include the school holidays - although I could get it £500 ( in total for 4 of us ) cheaper if I went ' No frills' - the £646 is the Premium cost, which includes more baggage allowance, food etc ! I could get it £1000 cheaper if I took kids off school for 3 days - would cover the cost of the food - hopefully

Virgin Holidays Flydrive for the 13 Oct 2007 14 nights for 2 adults and 2 children from Glasgow to Orlando including a compact car for 14 nights comes out at £2763.55 all inclusive of taxes and surharges etc and you can book now way in advance of just the flights being released[msnwink]

I would leave it a little while, and would take mine out of school for three days if it saved me £1000.
