"For all new bookings from 1 April 2006 revised economy luggage allowances apply on Virgin Atlantic. For USA and Caribbean economy allowance is now 2 pieces of luggage at 23kg per piece. For all other destinations economy allowance is now 1 piece of luggage at 23kg. Total dimensions (length plus breadth plus height) of each item of luggage is not to exceed 158cms. For all individual pieces exceeding 23kg, excess baggage charges will apply.

For more information on luggage and check-in please see our luggage and check-in FAQ's."

    Hope this helps

The drop in luggage allowance is an even better reason to rent a villa in my opinion. The fewer clothes we take out with us the more room for good stuff on the way back.
I must admit though that we didn't often go over the limit. 64Kgs each ( that was for the kids as well) always seemed more than enough.

It just means for us that we will take more cases. Our family of 5 happily fit into (not literally) 2 cases on the way out and 3 on the way back, but they weigh about 30kg, we have now bought some more cases ($38 for a set from Wal Mart)so we will have one each now, plus the squashy ones for the return. At least I won't have to make use of every inch of case space now so packing might be quicker [msntongue]

We're the same Shirley, we usually only take one large case, but will now have to take two smaller ones. This is a pain as we also have two sets of golf clubs. You can guess who carries the clubs and who is left struggling with the luggage[msnmad]
