    best place for flights

hi there, we are off to orlando in Sept and were ataying in a hotel. Yesterday I passed my driving test, so the next trip we'll be looking for a villa (i need to have a licence for a year first). I was wondering wheres the best place to book flights. I have looked all over the net for next sep/oct prices and it seems very expensive. Maybe im looking in the wrong places. Can anyone help?

It depends on how you want to travel. There is chartered flights or scheduled flights, direct or indirect. Sometimes the cheaper option is to go indirect on a scheduled flight. Some of the more popular websites can help with this as they offer both british and american flights.

Which airport do you want to travel from?

We fly in direct all the time and have done many routes. It does put some time onto journey but in same cases can save you alot of money. We flew a few weeks back via Chicago with BMI and saved £900 on a family of 4 compared to the Virgin Atlantic prices. The £900 we saved went a long way towards our spending money.
The price differance tends to more around the kids holidays.

we always fly indirect from manchester, usually via Chicago or Atlanta.Normally it gives us a 2hr gap between flights which is great to stretch the legs and grab a coffee. We are flying with American Airlines this Oct and it is £360 plus tax.I think it is best to book as far in advance as possible to get the best deals.

Hi Kate - We have been going on holiday to Florida for many years and have used various companies but as others have said, it all depends on whether you want to go scheduled or Charter flights. It also depends on how long you are going for and if you want to fly direct or are willing to change flights.

We usually go in September and prefer to travel direct from Manchester with Virgin, if we can get a good price. Normally only if you can avoid the school holiday season though. If it's too pricey, we have also been on Charter flights with Travel City Direct and Thomas Cook. The travel company on the Orlando Villas web-site, "Charter Travel" , would be worth a call. You can contact them direct on 0870 77 77 216 and they will try & get you the best deal.

Have a great time in September and hope you get something fixed up for your next trip!!

We always fly indirect now because it is cheaper than direct. Found the Chicago route quite a long journey but if you use Delta they go through either Atlanta or New York which tends to increase the travel time by only a couple of hours. We now enjoy the break in the journey. As somebody has already said it allows to stretch your legs and grab something to eat and a coffee.

    thanks for that

We normally fly from Glasgow but would be willing to fly from elsewhere if it worked out a better deal. Ive noticed that there are some good last minute deals but its difficult to get seats for 2 adults and 4 kids unless we book well in advance. Will look at charter/sheduled flights in more detail and see what there is. Thanks
