We love March with the heat, without the humidity.
Parks are also quieter, so can have multiple rides on each coaster - giving great value for money

We are lucky enough to spend the school summer hols in Florida every year, and love that time of year. It is guaranteed to be warm every day, the showers in the afternoon to cool off, and later in August the parks empty out considerably. No hurricane at all in Orlando last year!

The beauty of Florida is that it is a year-round destination, which is why it appeals to so many different tastes. Each to their own![msnsmile2]

March is a very nice time of year in Florida. It is warm during the day and refreshing in the evenings.

It is Spring Break in the US so the crowds will be more than Jan and Feb but not as busy as the summer.

Have you started looking at flights yet?

We were hoping to go the last 2 weeks in March 2007 but Virgin prices dictated a change to the first 2 weeks. There prices were really high possibly due to the changes in the Easter school holidays for different areas.

Luckily we are not restricted to holiday periods and I would have thought booking a flight 3 weeks before Easter would have been ok.

Virgin must have missed an oportunity this year and decided to cover all bases[msnmad]

I know that feeling! We are restricted to School Hols so have opted to try indirect flights for the first time....hopefully the money we save (for goody shopping) will out weigh any down side...has anyone flown via New York or Atlanta? Is there anything we need to be aware of?

We've been in March twice in recent years, 2002 and 2005, both times the first 2 weeks in March.

In 2002 we only had 1 chilly day and 1 cool day, the rest of the time was lovely, if a little cool in the evenings. It was a lot quieter in 2002 than 2005 possibly due to post 9/11 travel fears, but there were still a fair few Spring Breakers and a lot of Canadians escaping their harsh winter.

It was much busier in 2005, but obviously a bit quieter than the summer, but beware of bike Weerk at Daytona. Our 2005 trip coincided with Bike Week which meant a lot of people commuting from the Orlando/Kissimmee area to Daytona due to the very high cost of hotels in Dayton at this time. This meant the theme parks were pretty quiet, but at night when everyone came back from Daytona the restaurants were very busy.

The weather in 2005 was also much poorer, with a lot of rainy days and cool days. in 14 days we had 4 very hot "proper" Florida days, 4 days of rain and the other 6 days were okay if a little on the cool side. One day the mercury never got above 50 Degrees and the rain was headline news as there was so much of it and it was supposed to be the dry season.

March can be a lovely time to visit, but the weather is hit and miss and so are the crowds as US Schools and Colleges have a Spring Break not a UK Easter break ie Spring Break is not at the same time in every state like School Easter Holidays are in the UK. They have a Spring Break Holiday at some point during Marcha nd April, but neccesarily to coincide with Easter.

Rather be there than here mind[msnwink]

March is a great time to go! My first trip to Florida was in March and the weather was awesome! The days were nice and the parks were not that crowded!
