Last minute nerves....

Hi, Hope you guys can help.

I'm due to fly out to Orlando later this year, and have booked a villa through this website. The deposit was paid months ago, but I'm shortly due to pay the balance.

I have no reason to doubt the honesty or integrity of the owners, in fact they have been nothing but helpful and polite in all our dealings.

Unfortunately it's an English trait to be suspicious (sign of the times I'm afraid) and before parting with our "hard earned" we want to ensure everything is above board.

To that end we'd like to know if you could advise, what realistic checks are there that we can carry out, to ensure that when we arrive in Orlando we don't find ourselves sleeping on the streets.

I feel kind of embarrased to ask, because as I said I have absolutely no reason to doubt the owners, but....better safe than sorry. [msnembarrased]

As you have booked your villa through this site you have absolutely no need to worry. All owners are verified regularly to ensure that they still own their villas.

My wife booked about 2 or 3 villas from this site and every one was exactly like the description...or better.

John and Roger run a very tight ship, Aylott. We villa owners have to have our villas regularly validated. You need have no fears, I am sure.

We make sure that we maintain regular contact with our guests, answering all their questions and reassuring them that everything is in order. Why not voice your concerns with your villa owner? I am sure they would put your minds at rest. They might give you their Management Company's phone number so you can get them to verify their ownership.

It is a matter of trust on both sides, but at least you know that you have the reputation of the brilliant OV sites to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday in your chosen villa.

I hope that your villa is everything you hope it will be - and more. So try to relax and look forward to stepping onto that 'plane and heading out to the Florida sunshine.

I think Ellie has said it all Aylott. You will find the villa owners on these sites have an immense sense of pride in their villas and customer service.

we booked from this sight (For last new year ) and we also were a little weary, but all was fine and you have to remember sometimes that there are a lot of good people out there , we have also booked new year , this year from this site as i feel everyone is really helpful and frendly i' m sure you will have a great holiday

Hi Aylott,

Relax. I can understand your fears but I'm sure everything will be fine. As others have said, we as owners who advertise on these 3 sites, have very strict guidelines which we must stick to.

Talk to the owner who you have booked with, I'm sure they will beable to reassure you further.

You can feel very safe by booking a home with OV as you are booking direct with the owner themselves, as with some site and tout operators, you will not know the home you are staying in until you get there. All the homes on these three sites are all verified with ownership on a periodic timescale
