    First Choice flight From Gatwick

We are booked on a First Choice flight from Gatwick to Sanford (10th-24th June). Managed to get price of £244 return, which I thought was pretty good! First Choice advertise 33" leg room in economy ("Star") class for long haul to Florida - more room than both Virgin and BA - and 36" in Premium (plus bigger, adjustable leather seats, etc...) which seem to be priced at £484 for those weeks. I'm 6'5" so you can imagine leg room is important to me. [msnwink]

My question is has anyone flown with them recently on this fight (or similar) and do you have any tips to make the flying experience more pleasant, e.g. what seats to ask for on flight and any on flight upgrades worthwhile?

We have paid extra for guaranteed seats together (£17 each) and also previous day check-in at Gatwick (£5 each), staying overnight at the Sofitel (formerly Meridian) hotel (with 15 day parking £176 total - includes car delivered to terminal on return) on Gatwick's North Terminal.

Tips re Sanford and the flight back also welcome.

    Thanks.

    Rob

I can't offer any comments on First Choice but would recommend on the return flight from Sanford that you book into the "Guest House". It is only £10 a person and you get comfortable lounges, free internet access, a playroom for the children, films to watch, free tea coffee and cold drinks and biscuits and two free alcoholic drinks per person. As you will probably have to return your car 3 hours before your flight this is a much more comfortable option than the general waiting area.

We are booked with First Choice for September star class premier "36" seat etc.. the only problem with them is i cant pre book my seats as you can we have opted for 'group seating' but we still could be apart but with your booking you guarantee your seating, let me know how it goes , the new aircraft has been rated high , you got a good price too, here is the link to their prices.

I always try to go for bulk head seats, as usually get more room to stretch out without annoying anyone in front of you[msnsmile]

We have flown with first choice twice now, may 2005 and jan 2006 and have booked next may as well, the planes are great, seat back tvs and plenty of room. we have just been with airtours last week on a monarch plane and its not a patch on the first choice planes.

Rob we did first choice in October and it was far better than the scheduled BA flight we did earlier in the year.
