    4th of July!

I have just had to change my countdown from 6 months (we are going over for Christmas) to 1 Month
I persuaded husband to book last minute flights and got a great deal on a villa. We are only going for 7 days but we happen to be there for 4th July. I have never been at this time of year as we normally go in the winter months. What can I expect for the celebrations, is there anywhere you would reccomend to be on the 4th? Do they go mad? We were there for Thanksgiving last year and didn't really see much going on really, we had a turkey dinner at Prime Time but found it a bit of a dissapointment.
    any advice?
    cheers
    Heidi

Have never been there myself for the 4th July, but I am sure you will have a fantastic time Heidi. I would have thought it best to reserve a table at your favourite restaurant, just to be on the safe side.

We went for the 4th of July last year and it was great. We watched the fireworks in Islands of Adventure which were the best I had ever seen. It's very busy and takes a while to get out of the park after the fireworks but I would go here again as it was amazing. I'm sure you will have a great time wherever you decide to go.

We are going for xmas too this year and undecided about where to go for xmas, new year but it will be fun whatever we decide.

    Have a lovely time.

I should think that whereever you go you will have a great time. All the parks will put on a great display. We have always found that Epcot are brilliant on public hoidays, so it may be worth going there.

    Have a fantastic time.

    Hi Heidi
We visited downtown Kissimmee next to the lake on the 4th of July. So much to do all day including three large tents with different types of music playing in each. The fireworks in the evening were super and all free of charge. They even had a free bus service taking people in and out to a free parking area. At the moment we are looking at flights and if we can get some at the right price will be there again this year.
    Might see you there.

Thanks guys, all your suggestions are great. I can't wait to be back again We got cheap flights njstringer (£200ish each) from Cardiff to Sandford 29th June - 6th July, the flight is with Monarch though which I havn't read great things about but we are going epecting it to be the worst flight ever and anything else is a bonus! Have always flown Virgin or BA from Gatwick before but Cardiff is only an hour away so that will be nice although no downtown check in ect. Can't grumble though as this is a budget trip and wasn't planned

Lake Eola Park in Orlando is also a great place to go for 4th of July festivities. It's free and they have music and a terrific fireworks display.

Or, the Lakefront in St. Cloud has a another free event with activities such as local bands, cloggers, patriotic singing by choral groups, carnival rides, and arts and crafts displays. This goes on all day beginning about noon and the fireworks display finishes off the day around 9:00 p.m.

Well done, hope you have a great time. We have seen the Magic Kingdom fireworks and they were excellent.
