    check in at downtown disney

    Hi

Been told today that if you are flying with Virgin (which we are) we can check in our luggage early on in the day which will leave us the rest of the day luggage free!!!

Sounds a bit too good to be true - anyone got any advice on this???

It's great Gill, we do it that all the time. It saves lugging your luggage round all day.

It cost's $5 per person unless you are on a Virgin package deal, but it is worth it just to know your seats are booked, cases are taken off you, and you have your boarding card and no long queues at the airport ot check in [msnsmile2]

It's definately worth doing Gill. You get rid of your cases early in the day and you also then don't have to hang around the airport for 3 hours before your trip home. We used to check in at Downtown Disney and then spend the rest of the day in Disney before heading to the airport.

We do it every visit, leaves the rest of the day free and not worrying about waiting to check in before your flight because 1 queue is enough at passport control

Just be prepared for it to be quite busy - I was there a couple of weeks ago and fortunately it was quiet - but I was told they had been checking up to 700 passengers per day over the easter holiday period and had struggled with staffing.

I suppose like at lot of things it really depends on when you're travelling.

Either way I think it's worth doing.

    Hi Gill,

We always use the Downtown Disney Checkin Service, its great.

There is a charge of $5 if you are not on a Virgin package holiday, but it is worth it. We get rid of our bags and then go and spend the rest of the day in one of the parks (it tires the children out before the flight) and it saves hanging round the airport for ages with the children, who are, by then getting bored.

We always use it and have never had to wait more than 30 minutes. We used it this Easter when we were out - arrived at 8:45 and were driving away from Downtown Disney at 9:10 so there were definitely no issues with queues. They've got it down to a fine art and I definitely wouldn't ' not' do it if I was flying with Virgin!!

    It's a must

DTD Check In with Virgin is an Excellent service.

Simply turn up outside the Cirque Du Soleil Building at DTD between 8am and 1pm with your suitcases and all passengers. Drop your bags off collect your boading cards and thats it. An extra 2 hours for that last minute shopping or what ever you fancy doing before you have to hit the airport for your return journey.
