We looked in 2003 for a hostel for our son for one night in Miami and found including tax it came to more than $15 so am guessing you will definitely have to up your budget.

I didn't talk about my budget.[^] Simply I wanted to know if in miami or somewhere in the usa i could find motels, hostels or hotels as cheap as in paris for example.[:X]
Cathyx have you tried looking at the Lonely Planet Books, they are the bible of backpackers, and I used several when I travelled thorugh Asia & Australia, when I was still living in London. Have a search thru them, and use them as a guide. I used them when I visited Paris too and found a wonderful apartment to rent in the latin quarter.
Once you find a suitable lodging/backpackers, they will probably be the best people to ask about displaying your books, as they will know the areas to direct you.
Good luck, travelling is great fun, and you sound like you are courageous enough to do it on your own! Enjoy!
