    downtown check in

Excuse my ignorance, but when we booked a package with Virgin last year, we were able to check in at downtown disney on the day of our flight home. Next March when we go, we've booked a Virgin flight only and separate private villa, can we still use the downtown check in service or is it just for package holidays?

We've used it twice now - the latest being March this year.
As most villa owners need you to check out by about 10am so it can be cleaned for the next visitors, and the flight on both occassions wasn't until 6.30pm, it gave us an extra 6 hours at least were we didn't need to worry about the luggage - or having to be at the airport hours before the flight to join the seemingly endless line at check in.
The first year we went (2005) we never went on a package - just flights - and had no trouble turning up and paying our $5 each.

We used it too in February as we had to check out at 11.00 a.m. It's wonderful to get rid of the suitcases so early and we stayed at Downtown Disney had lunch and chilled. Well worth the $5.

It closes at 1.00 and we had about a half hour queue, which was nothing, as the last time we had to queue over 2 hours at Orlando International and had to be taken out of the queue because we would have missed the flight - it was so busy! With the Virgin check in you don't have to be at the airport until an hour before departure either (although I wouldn't cut it that fine!)

They will advise you when you arrive in Orlando that you can use the check in at Downtown Disney. It is usually free for Virgin Holiday travellers but if you have booked direct with Virgin Atlantic you pay for the privilege. Best $5 of anyones money though.

Fab service, would always do the Downtown Check In, saves time at the Airport and gives you that couple of extra hours to do that last minute shopping etc

Used it for the first time a couple of years ago

    It is great

No queuing up at the airport plus not worrying about all the luggage

    Best $20.00 of the trip

    You know it makes sense
