The problem you're likely to have is that American TV's use a system called NTSC and British TV's use a different system called PAL. Unless you have a British TV that is NTSC compatible then the American game console will display in black & white.

Most consoles, games, video machines etc say on the box whether they are PAL or NTSC (or both).

    Hope that helps

No problem, they are sold all over, from the games shops in the Malls to Walmart. You will find the DS and the games are much cheaper.

The power adaptor is set for US sockets so you can just pick up one over here for UK plugs for about £6.99

And obviously the differences between our TVs and theirs wont be an issue as the DS is a hand held device. [msnsmile2]

Re the power adapter, you can buy a tourist plug for use in UK. We got ours in a set which included a voltage converter from Walmart. It was around $17, my nephew managed to find one a universal one for a couple of $s which also took Euro plugs.

We have a American gameboy and PSP and both work in the UK without the need for a transformer step down. Both play both British and American games without any problems. For the Gameboy we bought a the AC charger from EB for about £5. The PSP didnt cost us a penny as we used a standard UK connector which came with my Camcorder to plug into the AC charger.

Our son has an American DS and PSP, the DS is charged using the same one as his previous Gameboy Advance which was bought in the UK. The PSP, he was able to charge with a lead we already had too, the only problem with the PSP is that he can only buy the US UMB's (films) as the UK ones won't work.

PSP films from the US will not work on UK PSP. But the games will.
