That's great Neil, it will really be the icing on the cake for your holiday. My boys love them, but will have to wait till we can all go, otherwise I will never hear the end of it!!

I've only just caught up with this thread as it was started while we were in Florida.

I am going to have such a battle on my hands now to try and stop Steve from booking something from this range. I always argue that when there are only the 2 of us we could make do with a small car but I never get my way and we usually end up with a full size or people carrier (for trips to Home Depot and the garden centre of course). He has always wanted to drive a hummer but I am definately not having one of those parked on the driveway! I might be persuaded to go for a Lincoln Navigator though as long as it comes with a set of steps for me to get ino it![msnsmile2]

I've never paid much attention to how many miles I do on holiday in Florida but I see that there is an extra charge for these vehicles for every mile you do over 700 per week.

I expect that isn't an issue if you are just using it around Orlando but you would need to be careful if you were going on long trips while you're over there.

That's true, although the rate is 29 cents per mile (over the 700 miles per week / 100 miles per day), which equates to approx £16 per 100 miles over that limit, so still not a fortune unless you plan on crossing the USA!

I was really applying it to my own use Roger. I'm sure the extra charge won't apply to most people but I often fly into Miami and holiday on the Gulf Coast. The round trip can be over 400 miles so I'd be keeping an eye on my mileage while I'm there.

My major problem would be that if I did rent 1 of these great cars I'd probably want to do more driving than normal (although not crossing the USA!!)
