You are definitely right; the elder child does enjoy some elements of the park once we get him there, for the younger two it just seems like a very long walk!!
I enjoy the park due to the variation of the different counties, even though we live in England you STILL HAVE to look round England just to see if it's the same.
Epcot is my dad's all time favorite park, he is now of a particular age when the parks don't really interest him, but I am sure he would make an exception for Epcot.
The younger children are very much into the characters, although we have seen a fantastic show in Epcot with all the characters.

I'm not so sure - both our children (just turned 3 and 5) love the world showcase at Epcot. Best thing is to start one of the mask trails at one of the KiddyStations (they have them in each country) and then the children have to visit each country and can learn about the different cultures whilst colouring in a bit of their mask at each country. Also great fun to see it all for us parents.

Tracy, your 12 year old will probably like it while it may be too much for the baby of the family at 3.
Our two love Epcot, aged 4 and 1 at last visit. The 4 year old enjoys the different sites and sounds of the world showcase and the aquarium was enjoyable for both of them. We haven't trid a lot of the other innovention exhibitions, apart from the polar Coca-Cola one, if only they did Irn-bru! For children of that age I think it is surprising how much just the changing scenery is fascinating. The character greet in Morrocco is also good, a lot of people seem to miss it so it is quite a quiet one. It is also worthwhile taking them in to the end of Test Track where all the cars are, just to allow them to have an explore and climb, and I do love the GM people carrier, if only you could get something like that for £30000 in the UK!
Aileen also enjoys the Margeritas at Mexico!
If you get a chance to see the Candelight Processional then don't miss it, we manage to get in Christmass Day last year, fantastic.
Obviously in MGM Playhouse Disney is a HUGE hit, but they also enjoy the animation tour. We have done it twice and the first time was a Sunday. The tour was good, but there were no artists working, for those plannning there next visits this would be worth remembering.
Best wishes,
Euan
We are comparing apples and oranges here being that MGM and Epcot are two entirely different entities. I have always much preferred Epcot over anything else, but it is certainly a matter of taste and what type of entertainment you are looking for.
Decisions, decisions. I like both Epcot and MGM. For me and my youngest son (aged 8) I think Epcot would have the edge but DH and elder son (aged 11) would never forgive me if we didn't do MGM.
Perhaps a compromise - do MGM first thing in the morning then head over to Epcot after lunch. We quite often do this anyway - Epcot is never as busy as the other parks in the afternoon (unless you want to do Test Track of course) and you can then stay on for the fireworks.

Hear, Hear! If I had just 1 free day in Orlando, I'll visit Epcot above all others. I think more than any other park, it is Epcot that makes Orlando special. If you think about it, there is nothing like it anywhere else (at least as far as I know).quote:Originally posted by pbensur

I couldn't agree more, Nostromo!! Epcot is surely a unique and incredible experience. And I don't believe there is anything like it anywhere else either!
