I think if we knew what the exchange rate was likely to be in the next two months, we'd all be millionaires! Most info relates to what the exchange rate was in the past (some give graphs, etc).

The rate at the moment is higher than it's been for a while. As to whether it's going up or down, no-one can tell you for certain.

If you do find a chart for the future Blott, keep it to yourself - after you have let me know about it of course!

Up again to $1.835 this morning I see.

There are some forcasting that it will get up to $2.00, but I think that is wishful thinking.

Hmmm - well I'd soon give up the day job if I had that sort of inside knowledge!

    Huh!

It's only a few weeks since US interest rates were forecast to go up, thus further depressing the £ exchange rate. I bought some at that stage, only to find that, as usual, the advice was wrong.

You just can't forecast these with any accuracy at all. Best not to try. I work for an Investment Bank, and the currency guys can't afford to give up their day jobs - so there's little hope for the average bloke, no matter how smart.

Every time in recent history that it has come close to $2 lots of profit takers jump in and the rate goes back down. I would not mind betting that quite a few people that are betting on the rate will have programmed sells at 1.98 while everyone else waits for the magic $2.

I agree Dave, to me anything over $1.90 is a real result.
