Well it has finally reached 2.10185 today. It was only a matter of time.

Great news for all those thinking about holidaying in the US.

The USA has always traditionally been great value for UK Guests, but it has just got better!![msnwink]

I just spotted that too Graham. Mind you I was reading yesterday that it is more due to a weak dollar than a high pound and it was expected to drop back a bit in the new year when UK interest rates were looked at again and house prices were expected to drop a bit more. The message was make the most of your Christmas shopping Stateside as it may not last.

Wow $2.10, can't be bad, and easy to do the currency conversion - half it and know it's definately cheaper than that even with the sales tax.

Bags nearly packed, 3 more sleeps to go

Great News, it just topped $2.105 but as fallen back slightly in the last few minutes. I have just done an exchange through Hifx at $2.07.

Just did a serious ammount last month when it was slightly lower and got around 2.039 but now got another serious wad to do in the next week, 2.10 is great although looking around 2.08 probably with the broker!

We went for the Millenium and thought 1.39 was ok at the time![stupid1]

Having recently got a Nationwide Card, what is the maximum cash withdrawal I can make daily whilst here as I would like to take advantage of the good rates, and I take it I can use any ATM?

Most ATMs have a max withdrawal of $400.

I have never tried more than one withdrawal in a day, but somebody said that the limit is £300 so I suppose you could take out another $200 from an ATM

You can of course use it for as much spending as you have in your flexaccount.

All ATMs accept the Nationwide card(it is VISA). A couple of ATMs charge $1.50 for a transaction(for any sum) but the majority don't make any charge. On principle I will never use one that charges.

The rate with a Nationwide card at the moment is over $2.10!!!!

Sandra, I always use Sun Trust ATM's and I usually withdraw $500 per day.
This is what it's say's on the Nationwide website under Withdraw cash

As long as you have enough in your account you can withdraw up to £300 in any one day from over 1 million cash machines in the UK and around the world displaying the VISA/Cirrus symbol. Nationwide will not charge you either at home or abroad.

Thank you for your replies. Just got $400 from machine outside Publix and then went to a Bank AMT which would not allow me a withdrawal. Must admit I did not try $200 so it may have allowed me that. Think I will get hubby to send a large amount from our money broker in UK as I can't keep tripping to ATM's every day. Too much sunshine to be doing that[msnwink]
