    Birthday

When we go out in August it'll be my nephews 10th birthday while we're there. We're thinking of going to one of the Disney parks then going for a meal somewhere, either in the Park or outside. Can anyone advise where is best to go for him to get a bit of special treatment.

How about charcter dining, but you need to know which one he would like.

Garden Grill is one of our favourites, as they have Mickey, Pluto Chip n dale

If you are in one of the parks on your nephew's birthday make sure you let them know when you arrive. I'm sure there are other threads on here explaining this but they give the birthday boy a badge and then the Disney staff will make a fuss of him whenever they see him during the day. Nice extra touch providing your nephew isn't too shy!

A character meal is certainly something to think about.

I've also heard that if it's your birthday on a Park visit you get some kind of special treatment. Does anyone know for sure if this is true.

Do you have to be below a certain age for the special bithday treatment - do over 25's count?

Just tell the restaurant its your birthday and you will get the treatment whatever your age.

    Hi Karen,

Both my children have had birthdays in Florida, in fact my son has had several. One year we went on holiday with friends and we spent my son's birthday at Blizzard Beach which was made extra special by Mickey & Goofy turning up (nothing to do with us it was just a coincidence) and playing in the water with the kids. It was my son's 10th birthday at the time and I can still picture this big beaming smile on his face, one of those priceless moments! In the evening we went to Magic Kingdom and had a pre-arranged character meal at Crystal Palace which is our family favourite and stayed for the Spectro of Magic Parade and the fireworks, it was a day that he will hopefully never forget. Another time we have park hopped and just done my son's favourite rides and collected the birthday badges as previously mentioned at each park. As Daglish said if any of the cast members see someone wearing a badge they do make a fuss of the person. I remember we were queuing for the monorail to travel between Epcot & MK and a cast member saw my son with his birthday badge on and we were wisked away to ride up front with the driver!

On a recent trip at Christmas time we booked a character meal for my daughter's birthday at Liberty Tavern in MK and told them it was for her birthday and at the end of the meal the server's sang Happy Birthday to her and presented her with a beautiful birthday cake, it was such a special moment for her!

If you do book a meal in a Disney park make sure you tell them that it is your nephew's birthday and they will make it special for him.

I hope whatever you end up doing you have a great time.

    Angela

Over 25's do count. We visited MK on my birthday one year - and it was great[msnembarrased] I even got to dance with Chip'n Dale on Main Street. I will never forget it, never mind the children.

    Oh yes !!!

I got a birthday badge for my &%**"! th birthday, and had a brilliant day at the MK. All the cast members were extra charming, and we often got ride carriages etc all to ourselves as a special treat.

Even the characters in the parades would "mouth" Happy Birthday when they spotted the badge !
