Are but Julie are you on staff rates like me?
We have just flown in via Miami on BA - WT+ - got a very good price, plane was late due to problems at LHR and then aborted landing at Miami due to a helicopter flying into our space as we were descending down. Bit hairy I can tell you, no shrieks or anything from the passengers - don't you love us Brits! Quietly raised eyebrows at each other and once plane was on an even keel calm reassuring tones of the captain apologising and telling us what had happened. Food was good, films good - Syriana and Memoirs of a Geisha, and listened to the radio for lots of it while reading, and staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Gave up flying virgin years ago as we felt their cabin crew had lost the plot entirely.
We would pick BA, always had a good flight with them. We go by price and often find BA cheaper than Virgin.
This year we are going Delta via Atlanta, £1,752 for 4 adults 1 child, same dates BA want £3,923[msnoo] and Virgin £3,353[msnoo].
Never done indirect before but saved £££££££££.
Hubby and I are ex-BA staff and try and fly with them. However like Sally had horrendous quotes from BA this year. We flew Northwest at Easter and had excellent flights. August we're going United so another experience. As I teach I am 'stuck' with school holidays and no option to take my children (one classed as an adult as she's 12 [msneek]) out of school.
Flew with BA to Orlando for the first time in years in February and was very pleasantly suprised. Much better service than I remembered before and it did seem like there was more leg room than Virgin.
We have already booked our flights for later this year with Virgin but will definitely be looking at BA again for 2007
Spooky!!!!!!!
Hi Julie, our family is flying with BA on exactly the same sectors to New York in June (ie into EWR and out of JFK). Having travelled many times on business with BA recently I've loooooved the Club Class experience, so relieved to hear the crew also put 110% into keeping the pax happy in the bearpit. We're booked in rows 41 and 42, DD and I both insist on window seats!![msnsmile]
Orlando is missing out this year, now our children are adults themselves we're introducing them to the 24-hour world that is NY NY!
Can't wait to be back there myself[clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]

Well Julie -if they flew from Manchester, I would use them too -its a drag going to London by connecting flight though [okay going, tiring coming back] However, I can overwhelmingly recommend sitting up front with virgin -the suites were wonderful, and I felt thoroughly pampered [at one point I kept yawning - just aftr take off-, and said to the hostess chatting to me I was sorry, I just felt whacked but didn't want to sleep yet, so I would have to walk about and wake up- a minute or two later, one steaming hot Cappuccino with two fresh cream chocolates appeared - " there you go, that might keep you going for a bit!" I was thrilled. I'll keep yawning next time
Icidentally we were unlucky to get Nova both ways -pretty woman on wa back, can't remember way out![]()
