    Virgin Check-in Manchester

I'm flying from Manchester to Orlando with Virgin and wondered if you can drop your luggage off the day before your flight if you check-in online? I have used the twilight check-in many times at Gatwick and know Manchester doesn't have the same dedicated service, but I a few years ago we booked with Continental which was on a Virgin flight and could have dropped the luggage off if the the flight had been booked with Virgin. Also never used online check-in, is it straight forward?

    Thanks

    Sue

Dont think they do the luggage drop off but suggest you try the web site to confirm. The on line check in is very easy to use, plus when we got to the luggage drop off, there where only 3 people in front of us. Well worth using.

They do a Virgin DIY Check-In not a bag drop off. Just go on the Virgin website the night before you travel put in all the details required which is Names of Passengers and Passport numbers and when you get to the airport on the day of your travel you go to the DIY check in desk. Pass over your cases collect your boarding cards and thats it. Know queueing takes about 2 mins.

You can however do a Virgin Check in at Downtown Disney on your return where you do drop your bags off. Simply go to the Cirque Du Soleil building at Downtown Disney bewteen 8am - 1pm with all passengers and passports drop off your bags collect your boarding cards and thats it. Gives you a few more hours before you turn up at the Airport.

Fastastic service would highly recommend you do it.

No need to drop bags the night before. Only 5 minutes queue for us after using the online check-in.

I know where Sue is coming from, although there may not be a queue in the morning it is often more convenient to get rid of the bags the night before.
We stay near the North terminal at Gatwick airport so by dropping our bags the night before, our driver friend drops us at the South terminal the night before and we drop the bags and it is so easy then to use the shuttle between terminals and can walk to the hotel and walk over in the morning without having to rely on the hotel shuttle.
If they dont advertise it as available at Manchester I would guess they may not have a secure storage area as they do at Gatwick for security.
worth an email to virgin to ask though, and if enough request it , it may be set up you never know.

You're exactly right Steph, it's the convenience of dropping the luggage off the night before I was hoping for. As there is only me travelling this time [msnscared] I just wanted to be super relaxed from the start. I will email Virgin though.
