I - drive or free shuttle from intnl drive

We are going to Florida in August for our first family visit and our hotel offers free shuttle rides to each disney park, most major parks and within walking distance too wet 'n' wild.
    Stupid question coming now!!

Is there a difference between the i-drive and the shuttle rides our hotel offers, and which one is the easiest and best to use?

Are they as busy and hard to catch as people say? Traveling with us is our 6yr old daughter and people say that the transport can take up to an hour to get to your location and your more than likely be standing, this could be difficuly to do with a hetic, excited 6yr old!!

Any help or advice would be grateful.

I hope the experts don't mind me chiming in with an answer!

The I-Drive system is a bus service (although it's made to look like a tram) that travels up and down International Drive for a small fee ($1 if I remember correctly).

You could use it to go to Sea World or any of the other shops and attractions ON INTERNATIONAL DRIVE, maybe even Universal but Disney is quite some distance from International Drive, so you'd be better off taking the free shuttle offered by your hotel.

In my very limited experience with the I-Drive, it was fairly empty, but I did see it getting crowded at busy times of the day.

Oh, and it stops running at around 10pm (again, if memory serves) so don't use it as transport to go to the Ghost Tour at the Titanic exhibition as it will have stopped running before you're done.

hi we have stayed at a hotel on i drive lots and if we are not driving we sometimes take the shuttle , they can get busy and are at set times but,as tony says disney is a little further out from i drive so if i was going there i would use the shuttle. if going to beltz shopping the tram is great as it takes you right there ,universal we sometimes catch the shuttle or if there are a few we get a cab ( from the wyndham on i drive about $6 or $7 ) so there are lots of options! we have never got a cab to disney though . i sure you will have a great time , enjoy!

The I-Ride Trolley is very separate from your hotel's shuttle bus and this will leave and return to the hotel at set times.

I've DM'd you the trolley website so you can check this out.

We are off in 9 days and staying on Universal Boulevard, just behind I drive. I will let you know what the transport system is like when we return, as we only have a car booked for one week of our stay. [^]

when we have stayed on i-drive we have used both the free shuttles and the i'ride. the i-ride is great as they is usually a stop right at the entrance of each hotel, or a 2min walk away which is really handy. use them both to suit yourself, when ever we went to seaworld from here we got the free shuttle in the morning, but returned on the i-ride when we were tired or whatever. also remeber that the i-ride goes to the shopping outlet which is a +++[msnsmile2] have fun on your trip - wish i was going again soon [msncry]
