    Christmas at Epcot

At around 6pm each evening during one Christmas - they light up the Christmas Tree - it is absolutely amazing with the size of the tree and the magnificent lights - they sang caroles and it did bring a tear to my eye - it was a great start to Christmas.

Did you enjoy the carrolen, I don't think that's spelt right, but the machine with musical bells. It was wonderful and really added to the atmosphere. Actually it might have been at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in MGM, but great just the same.

We actually did Epcot on Christmas Day, we were advised to stay clear of Magic Kingdom, it was great and not too busy.

Each country had laid on something special for Xmas day. Traditional snacks etc. for you to try free !!! and Carols and Father Christmas did a walk about as well.

The decorations at Epcot for Christmas were brilliant. Walking out at night past the tree with the arch of lights is really magical. The candlelight processional is pretty impressive over at the American Theatre and we saw Santa Claus there before the show.

The Candlelight Processional was really Christmassy. One thing though, there was a huge queue. We did not get a seat for one performance and people started queuing again almost immediately afterwards for the next so we joined that queue and got in. A lot of people by-passed the queue which caused the lack of seats. We later found out that they had booked the Candlelight processional as part of a package (think you get a meal in one of the restaurants too, not sure what else). You then get guaranteed seats right at the front.

Are you saying that the package was to book the meal and you get the Candlelight processional or was it part of a bigger package?

We had the package. You just book a priority seating reservation at one of the selected Epcot restaurants. We chose Le Cellier. You pay a set price for the meal - we paid $192 for 4 adults and 2 children. For that you got a starter, main course and dessert. Tip & tax were included but not drinks. They give you a special badge which gives you guaranteed entrance to your chosen Candlelight Processional show. We saw the 6.45pm show on Christmas Eve and ate at 8.10pm afterwards. It was excellent - you just go to the opposite side from those queuing in the normal line and you are let straight in to a reserved area. There was a bit of a queue but only before they opened the gate - we waited perhaps 5 minutes. We had seats right at the front because we were fairly early but you can turn up at the last moment and they will have kept you a seat.

Does anyone have a list of the Restaurants that are involved in the Candlelight Procession Package - we plan on doing the package this year, but can't find a list of restaurants, or do they all do the package?

Typical isn't it. We've booked Le Cellier for 4.20 New Years Eve and thought this would be nice between eating and New Year fireworks, the last day is on Dec. 30th so we won't be able to do the package.
