I have been to see the Rays on several occasions and would highly recommend it. In fact we went last Friday to see the Rays play the Red Sox in the first of a 3 game series (Rays won 5-2 and the series 2-1).
Friday's game started at 7:15 and we left the Champions Gate area at 4:00 and due to roadworks around Tampa, rush hour, traffic accidents and people getting away to the coast for the weekend we got there with about 30 minutes to spare. Parking is now free at the ground but to make sure we got in the stadium for the start of the game we paid $10 to park in a nearby lot (this also made getting out easier at about 10:30), and we got back about 00:30.
The Rays are not well supported as they are the Sunderland of the Major League and at least half of the fans last Friday were supporting the Red Sox.The stadium was about three quarters full
Eating in the stadium is expensive for a family so the new owners of the Rays now let you take in sandwiches and carton drinks.
Tickets are all prices but you get a great view wherever you sit

There is also an opportunity to go to The Disney World of Sport resort where baseball takes place. Not the same atmosphere but we enjoyed it when we went. If this is of interest try the Disney World of Sport website for dates. Just an option for you
