    flying from bristol

just booked next years vacation to florida with first choice, (brochure only came out wednesday) and we are flying from bristol, if you live anywhere from lands end to swindon that must be music to your ears( or mouse ears as the case may be). no additional premium and only 20 minute drive from my house. couldnt believe our luck, flying on the 7th of july, thought about going out for the 4th of july but decided with 2 small kids it may be alittle to hectic to enjoy.
if anyone is interested in the bristol flights be very quick as places are being taken very quickly. our friends booked a fortnight for may next year only yesterday and today we couldnt get a flight on the same date.
our easter weekend has been made, happy holidays everyone.[msnsmile2]

    Do they fly direct then?
I always assumed you were flown to Gatwick and then on to Florida. Will look into that as we are near Bristol

Have flown Continental to Newark and then onto Tampa (have Gulf Coast home) twice and going again end of May. If you check-in online the night before travel in theory you only need to turn up 60 minutes before the flight, personally I wouldn't risk it. November to March no outgoing flights on Tuesday and Thursday due to lack of business, certainly when I have flown the planes have been full. Service originated in May 2004 as a businessmans flight but the airline obviously hadn't reckoned on the potential of holidaymakers who use Newark as a hub to go off across America.

Planes aren't the smartest in gizmos, only film screens that drop down from under the overhead lockers and the person in the middle of the three seats gets the best view. Crew extremely friendly and food standard fare.

I am 12 miles from Bristol airport and worked out the costs of going to and from Gatwick against the slightly increased fares of going from Bristol and not including hassles, wear and tear on myself there was difference of £20.00 - the cost of getting a taxi from home to Lulsgate, sorry Bristol International Airport.

There is little to occupy ones times at BIA so I don't suggest sitting there too long before departure time.

we fly with first choice from Bristol 0900 on sat 7th july we have to touch down to refuel but do not get off im pleased with that.
    we live in Weston-s-Mare.

Havent heard it called Lulsgate for YEARS!! Last time we flew from Bristol was about 4 years ago to DLP but have taken people there at leats twice a year.

Bristol to Sanford here we come.

No going up the day before no airport parking no travelling back down very tired, and family will drive us there and back.

All this and the price for the whole package including hotel was the same price as flying from Gatwick[msnsmile2][msnsmile2][msncool].

I must have a look at the First Choice Flights from Bristol, I flew via Newark in January from Bristol with Continental and that was great, but it will be great to have a choice now, I wonder when the flights actually start - do you know Phil?

Any increase in choice of flights from the South West is welcome.
I will still tend to go via Newark, as we are used to doing this, and wish to maintain our Continental Elite status.

The only annual direct flight we do is from Gatwick with Virgin, using the miles from my Virgin card

    Whereabouts do you live then?
We are 30 minutes up the motorway too.
We are in Dursley - just off the M5 halfway between J13 and J14
