Good Hotel or Location for a 2 day trip to beach

Clearwater is a nice area, parts of the area are somewhat dated though. If you would like to visit Floridas west coast, travel a little further south to the Sarasota area and Lido Beach. Lots to do, great restaurants including some lovely Amish restaurants, St Armands Circle is nice to stroll around and the beaches are great.

If you do visit the Clearwater area be sure to try the Saltrock Grill, a great steakhouse in Indian Shore.

I like Clearwater and it is only about an hours drive, so we usually just go for the day. If you are going to stay over 2 or 3 nights, then you could perhaps venture a bit further, perhaps to Naples.
