    Specrto Magic parade

I am a bit confused about the Spectro-Magic night parade at the Magic Kingdom. Some guidebooks say that this Parade is only during the peak summer months and special days, while others hint that it will be on all weekend evenings. We are going in April-May 2004 (well after Easter) and so, is there a chance that we might catch the parade on weekends?

Disney have been known to change parade times and days according to numbers of park guests, the weather etc. so it is almost impossible to predict what will and won't be happening next April/May. The best thing to do would be to look at their website at the beginning of next year and see what they intend, at least you will hve an idea then.

Best thing to do is check the park hours at the Disney web site nearer the time:

    http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wal...=ParkHoursRoot

If you click on "Events and Entertainment" for a specific day it tells you the parades/fireworks times for each of the parks chosen. Unfortunately they only go about three months ahead.

We have never gone to Disney in peak summer months - only in February and April. We have always seen the Spectro-Magic Parade every time we've been there.

THere's no guarantee it will be that parade either. Disney may decide to replace it with the Electric Light Parade-or maybe even something else.

This year Spectromagic and the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks were on a Wed and Saturday that was in may 2003. The parks got very busy on those days They may increase the amount of nights in the summer but wouldn't guarantee that.

OK, thanks everybody. I'll check closer to the time. AS things stand, we are spreading Magic Kingdom over 2 days, a Sunday & a Tuesday, to give the kids the best chance at all the rides. Even if there is no Spectro-Magic (or similar) parade on those days, we can always go back on a saturday evening for the parade only later in our itinerary. We have planned a total of 6 days for the big Disney Parks (MKx2, Epx2, AKx1 and MGMx1), but with the 7-day Hopper passes we should be able to get that extra day. Of course, we have other times reserved for Blizzard Beach & Pleasure Island, but those come as 'free' extras with the Hopper tickets anyway.

AK shuts at dusk because of the animals, so you could always hop over to MK that evening, rather than using another day up, if that happens to be the day that Spectro Magic is on.

That's what we did Carla-well us and every man and his dog!

Trying to get out again was frightmare-so be prepared for a slow exit.

Spectromagic was wonderful though and well worth the long wait to get home again.

If you want to see Tinkerbell leave the castle just before the fireworks-be sure to be stood in front of it.

Well worth seeing, and worth the inevitable wait for the parade to start. Like others who have replied, we have been well into Nov and Jan, and have always managed to catch Spectro at some point during our visit.

You could always check with guest relations at any of the Disney parks for a schedule.

    Enjoy [8D]
