    Tips

allright here goes this question has been swimming around in my head, driving me nuts!!

i know in a lot of hotels you would leave a tip for the chambermaid but does the same apply to the people who come in and clean the villa ready for the next guests?

obviously we would leave the place as we found it but we would like to show some appreciation for people who made it so lovely and welcoming for us in the first place

would it be considered ok to leave a few bottles of wine or maybe some chocs and flowers or is it the norm to leave dollars?

    thanks Mizzy

    Hi Mizzy

Thats a really nice idea, we have a small property management company that look after our villa and we get a lot of compliments on how nice our villa is.[8)][:I]

If you do intend on leaving something like this, I would also leave a note to explain this, as when a clean is normally done, the cleaning staff throw out everything in the trash, with no exceptions.

A very nice thought Mizzy - I am sure a 'thankyou' would be very much appreciated, the maids do an incredible job, often is a short space of time with back to back bookings[msnsmile2]

we leave a notelet and a tip, also leave things that will be thrown out but decent unused items, normally leave away from tip and just ask if they could put to good use etc......

I am sure most cleaners would appreciate a tip but a note is a must otherwise it would just go out as unwanted[msnsmile]

Mizzy. That's a really nice idea. The cleaners do a very hard job with very little reward. I am sure they would appreciate any thank you gesture. I would recommend, as others have said, to leave a note.

That is a very nice gesture, and the cleaners would really appreciate it. Leaving a note is a very good idea.
