    Virgin Economy Miles

On my E-Ticket for our Recent flight with Virgin it says the following: -

Date Number Depart Arrive Class Status By
    09FEB VS 15 LGW 12:30 16:55 MCO Economy (X) OK VS
    23FEB VS 28 MCO 18:05 06:55 LGW Economy (X) OK VS

Does the (X) mean i am able to claim Miles on it?

    3.2 Virgin Atlantic

3.2.1 You automatically qualify to earn miles from your first revenue flight in Economy, Premium Economy or Upper Class. When travelling in Economy (M,Q,V,X,N*), you will earn 100% of the miles flown, if you travel in Economy (Y,B,L), you will earn 125% of the miles flown. For Premium Economy you will earn 150% and for Upper Class you will earn 200%. Some discounted fares and reward tickets will not qualify. Please check when booking your flight.

3.2.2 Miles and tier points will not be earned in classes G, I, U, N*, T, E or O. *Miles and tier points will be earned in N class on the Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Delhi, Mumbai and Tokyo routes. For more information, please ask at the time of making your reservation.

3.2.3 Tier points are earned for each qualifying one way flight taken as a Flying Club member. The number of tier points earned per qualifying Virgin Atlantic flight is determined by the fare class paid. Tier points earned per one way to all Virgin Atlantic destinations with the exception of Sydney are: 5 for Upper Class, 3 for Premium Economy and 2 for Economy travel. Qualifying one way flights to Sydney will earn the following: 8 for Upper Class, 5 for Premium Economy and 3 for Economy. Some discounted fares do not qualify.
The qualifying fare classes follow for flights to and from London (London and Manchester in the case of Orlando):

    Upper Class, all routes: J,D,Z.
    Premium Economy all routes: W,S,K,H.
    Economy all routes: Y,B,L,M,Q,V,X

Economy for travel originating from, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Delhi, Mumbai, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Tokyo only: N.

Just write to Customer Services, and ask them to put your recent flights onto your miles account

If its an X clas ticket here the info you need........

    X Economy Megasaver Fare/MilesPlusMoney

Flying Club Miles and Tier Points will be earned on this fare. 100% of mileage flown earned (125% for Flying Club Gold members). 2nd Lowest level of fare class for Economy, non flexible, non changeable and non-refundable. One of the 2 fare classes that are used for Economy Flying Club MilesplusMoney fares (MpM). There will need to be availability in this or the other MpM fares class (N) for you to be able to take advantage of MpM. MilesplusMoney tickets do not earn Tier Points or Flying Club miles regardless of whether its booked under N or X class. Advance Purchase will be required. This fare class is also utilised on all routes (except Delhi route – see N Class) for redemption of Select voucher, if there is no availability in X and a customer wishes to use a Select voucher – Virgin will manually check through the sold allocation of X Class to see how many are Select voucher redemptions, as they are allowed to oversell this class to take them up to a maximum of 4 Select voucher redemptions.

    Does this help?[msnwink]

I really think Virgin should simplify their Flying miles reward system

You think the Miles of friends sort of thing when you recommend someone and you get extra points when they take a flight would mean you get the points.....no, your "recommended" person has to take a Qualifying flight.

They don't make that very clear.....

I always book my Virgin flights through agents, I ring a selection who advertise on teletext until I find a reasonable offer.

Last April at checkin I handed over my Flying Club membership card and although they scanned it on my return the miles hadn't been added to my account.

I emailed them through the site giving the flight and seat numbers and a week later the miles were added.
