    birthday in florida

Hi, my son will turn 12 whilst we are in Florida and would like to go out for a meal or show or something, does anyone have any suggestions where we could where they'd make him feel special? Thanks

I'm sure I've read something on here previously about letting them know at Disney if you have a birthday as all the cast members will make a big fuss of your son for the day.

I think it was posted by John but possibly quite a while ago. I'll keep looking but somebody else may beat me to it!

That's right Tracy, go to guest relations and let them know, your son will get a badge to wear and will get greetings and songs all day!!!

We mentioned it was one of our sons birthdays to a cast member when we went into Animal Kingdom, and ended up on one of the floats in the procession.

A very strange expirence, and lots of people will look at their holiday videos for years to come and wonder who you are.

I just spent my 33rd birthday out there but kept it very quiet (well our party knew) and made sure that we didn't do any parks on that day as i knew what i could expect from my new BIL!

Went to Key W Kools in the evening though and a very good time!!!

What about Cirque de Soleil. It's an absolutely amazing show and you could take a meal at one of the restaurants at Downtown Disney. My girls love Planet Hollywood.

I think that if you mentioned it any where your son would be made a fuss of,
asked my son who is now 17 and he said one of his best days out was Fun Spot with Go-Kart tracks and computor games galore then on to TGI`s.
Maybe a dinner show I can reccomend Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede great fun and I`m sure if you called ahead and asked if there was any thing you could do that would make the evening a bit special they would oblige

one of our party had a birthday whilst we where there last march

on arrival into the park pop into guest relations and they will give you a birthday badge
but be warned if your child is shy it is not always a good idea

our little one had to stand on a chair in quite a few of the restaurants whilst everyone sang happy birthday

the server in Tony's waved her hands and announced to the full restaurant that every day is a magic day in the magic kingdom but especially so for "childs name" whose birthday it is today so can we all join in a sing happy birthday to "childs name" he got a small cake to with a candle in to blow out

the birthday boy also had a repeat of this in the restaurant above the castle later that day(sorry i can't remember the name )

and when we hopped over to animal kingdom he got to steer the boat on a ride in that park

i'm sure your son will either love or hate all the attention and where ever you go for a meal he will be treated really special[msnsmile2]and have memories to treasure

Does he enjoy racing cars? We took my grandson for his 7th birthday to the Nascar restaurant on Citywalk Universal he thought it was great and if you mention birthday they always provide a cake and everyone sings, there is also one on International drive. If you visit a park on that day mention it on your arrival and if you go into one of the shows they always "do" something and in the shows you usually have a front seat. Rainforest cafe they also always provide a cake and have a singsong.
