    Customer Service

    The one major dissapointment of the holiday that we had was the lack of Customer Service everywhere we went. Staff were rude, impolite and generally lacked the usual great friendliness that you come to expect with service staff in Florida. We thought it maybe because it is early in the year and is because the staff were all trainees but because it happened nearly everywhere we went we are not so sure

    Also, what is with the 18% gratuity that appears on your bill if you are in large groups and then the server also expects a tip! WTF is all that about, it is either one or the other in my book not both.

    The vheck in staff at orlando that Virgin employ are next to useless and need to read up a bit on there rules and regulations before they are forced into the front line. Simple things like if you are travelling with an infant you are allowed a Car Seat, Pushchair etc.. on top of your luggage allowance they did not know about! 5 people in all had to be asked and then they called an senior staff member who said straight away that it was ok!

    Not only Virgin do this. We have had at least three other airlines try to include the carseat/buggy in with our baggage allowanceNorma.

    Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the customer service guys. We have always commented how good the service is, there are usually of us in our party so we get the gratuity added on automatically on some places, can't say they have expected more than this though. If we do get a really good waiter we will leave a bit more. Hope this hasn't put you off going to Florida though.[msnsmile]

    Sorry to hear of your disappointment re cstomer service.

    We have travelled to Florida many times - at different times of year and have always commented as to how good the level of service is in shops and restaurants. Definitely far better than we generally recieve here in the UK.

    Like you Daniel we were a large party (8 people) and when the party is this size the gratuity is automatically added so i dont think the staff have to "please" as much for that tip

    saying this though we had only one bad experience and suprisingly that was in the MK i dont know what the place was called but it was a ice cream/cake and patisserie sort of place at the top of main street on the right hand side

    the server was rude and incompetent but after a few quiet words in a supervisors ear he swiftly changed his attitude [msnwink] from then on we booked into restaurants as two tables of four and asked for them to be next to each other, this way we could tip according to the service we received and not because it was automatically added to the bill

    I am wondering if it is because it is the start of a new year as there was lot of hiring signs every where. I have to say the place where we found the worst service was at Magic Kingdom and every where was soooo sloooowwww.

    Put me off Florida, NEVER!!!!!!!!
