Whoops addicted already and forget my manners.
I am 54, no children except for the 49 year old I married 10 years ago. First went to Florida in 1980, stayed in Fort Lauderdale and visited the Magic Kindom for 2 days. Came back again in 1990? when Virgin first started doing holidays, stayed in Miami overnight and drove down to Orlando to stay in motel on the US27 (Epcot was open and they were still building MGM. The 192 was quite empty, K-mart was there but made up of mainly hotels a few eating places and the cheap touristy shops selling t-shirts.
Came back in 1997 on a belated honeymoon and stayed in Lake Buenavista at the Comfort Inn. Chris did not want to go but now he hardly wants to go anywhere else. Came out in Sept 97, stayed in a villa on US27 and became hooked on villas. Even with 2 of us it doesn't work out much more than booking a holiday with Virgin as long as you book it separately.
Everytime I bought anything I would buy double to give to my sister and Chris decided it would be easier to buy her a ticket and she could carry her own luggage. She's been coming with us ever since.
We love it out there, have made friends with a elderly couple we met in Sizzler who live just down the road from where we stay (to us it would be miles away but it's still the same zipcode)
We were looking to buy a holiday home but in the end decided to buy one in Spain as Chris can fly out on his weekend off. He works horrendous hours as a head chef in London and works every other Saturday but thankfully the restaurant doesn't open on a Sunday. In the winter he can fly out for a weekend very cheaply so we use the house more than we would a villa in Florida. It's no comparison really but when you only get 4 weeks holiday a year you have to be realistic.
Roll on the lottery win when he can give up work
Finally we are owned by two cats 14 years old this year, another thing which stops us being away from the UK for too long.
