Naples any views?

Naples is a lovely area to visit and I would certainly recommend a trip there. Apparently there are more millionaires in Naples than anywhere else in the USA [:O] There are a number of reasonably priced hotels in the area (Wellesley Inn, Holiday Inn Express etc) a particularly nice one is the Registry resort which offers standard hotel rooms or small villas located around the pool area. It is expensive but worth it for the night.

Be sure to visit Fifth Avenue (similar to St.Armands Circle) where most of the nightlife is, Naples Pier is also worth a visit. Theres also lots of great beaches, restaurants etc. There are the usual malls and outlet stores which I found to be slightly cheaper\better stocked than the stores in the Orlando area.

We have spent a LOT of time in Naples (over 10 weeks) and it's one of the most beautiful places in Florida.
All the major sights have been listed in the posts above though strangely enough, no-one seems to have mentioned the golf. Apologies if I've missed it but Naples boasts some of the most fabulous golf in Florida. There are loads of top-quality courses - Naples Beach & CC, Lely Mustang and The Rookery at Marco 10 mins away, to name but three.
Miami is only an hour and a half away down the Tamiami and you can take in an airboat ride on the Everglades.
There are scores of superior restaurants and bars but thankfully not a huge amount of "nightlife" - but we are in our 50s.
Naples Pier is one of my most favoured, serene, laid-back places on the planet and a Naples sunset is one of the world's fantastic sights.

It's an up-market resort and, truth be told, can be quite expensive. if that's the downside, the upside is it's thankfully free of tattooed, ear-ringed Brits in football shirts - forgive me if that sounds snobbish.
I suppose if you're a young family with kids, it's not for you but we love the relaxed gentility.

Julie if you decide to visit and stay over, check out The Bellasera Hotel.

They have large one and two bed suites and it's within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Some restaurants are expensive, but you can still eat cheaply, as there are chains such as Dennys and Chillis. There is also a shopping comples within a mile of the hotel, with the usual stores such as Sears and a Cheesecake Factory restaurant. There is also a Starbucks within 2 minutes walk of the hotel.

Check out their website as we found the prices direct were the cheapest.
