    Kraken vs Incredible Hulk

A Coasteroholic friend of mine went to Orlando recently and tried all the white knucklers (knowing him, probably several times each). He voted the Kraken at the Sea World as the scariest ride that he had ever been, putting it a nose in front of the Incredible Hulk; he put Dr Doom's Fearfall third, Duelling Dragons fourth and Summit Plummet fifth. The Montu in Busch Gardens just made it to his 'points list' in the sixth position. (This classification was for non-simulated rides only). I wondered what the experts thought of this ranking?

Well Nostromo, as a coaster fan myself, I think I would have to agree with your friend that Kraken lives up to its name and is a kraken good ride.

Although I'm not sure that Montu would come as far as 6th in my ranking. Of course the other great coaster at Busch is Kumba.

Duelling dragons is also a good ride, as is Rock 'n' Rollercoaster at MGM (although I did that in Paris, but guess it's the same ride).

Summit Plummet, don't see how that fits in with coasters, and I'm too chicken to go on that so I guess its a white knuckle, although I'd personally call it something else!!

Would agree about Kraken. The Disney rides are relatively tame, but I also love the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and also Space Mountain. Didn't think I would like the Tower of Terror, but I went on it at our last holiday and had to go back a couple of times - the theming is just fantastic![:0]

Even though it's not a ride Muppets 3D is brilliant, the pre-show is almost better than the actual show!

I think Summit Plummet is the No 1. On rides, you do just that - ride. Once you are strapped in you know that your fate is in someone elses hands.

It takes a pair the size of watermellons to take that step off a vertical drop into a blacked out tunnel. I've seen loads of people wait for up to 2 hours in blistering heat, and take the walk of shame back down when they get to the top

BTW if you do go on this be aware that they won't let you wear anything with metal on it. Two girls in front of us were wearing cut of jeans. The guard wouldn't let them on because of the rivets. One took them off to reveal a bikini, but her friend had nothing underneath and had to walk back down [:I]

I aint been on kraken but have been on hulk and dueling dragons and dueling dragons was loads more hairy.

I threw a whitey(WENT WHITE AND FELT SICK)for over an hour after dueling dragons but thought hulk was a piece of cake in comparision.

I like the Hulk - it is a good ride but not really scary but you do get a good rush. Not ridden Kraken so can't comment (must make a note to try it in April though).
I think Dr Doom is rubbish though - not scarey in the least.
Tower of Terror still gives me a good buzz when I ride it and I like RnR too but again don't think its scarey.
Duelling Dragons is probably the scariest - if you sit in the front and can see the other coaster approaching.
I prefer Montu and Kumba to Hulk - don't think either is scarey but they are excellent rides.
In some ways Gwazi is scarier - I'm always scared I'll come off with a back injury with all that shaking about.
I love coasters - haven't found anything that scares me yet. BUT water rides now that is a whole different matter. No way would you get me on Summit Plummit - just thinking about it makes me all shaky. I've done Kowabunga a few times and that's ok but not really my idea of fun - you will find me floating in a tube on the lazy river!!

I took my 57 yr old mum on Hulk and Kraken in March - she enjoys coasters but is a bit of a nervous passenger!! She described Kraken as fantastic and the Hulk as a bit lame!! So by her recommendations as a straight comparison Kraken wins hands down - I agree.......but like Angela we are both in agreement that Gwazi wins hands down - for a coaster that doesn't turn upside down the rush is far bigger - I guess it is the exposure - no over the shoulder harnesses etc.
What is Summit Plummit - is it like Der Stuka and Bomb Bay at Wet 'n' Wild??

What and where is Summit Plummit? Sounds like I should try it when I am over in October.

Summit Plummit is at Blizzard Beach. It like Der Stuka - just a free fall slide. It is about 50 foot higher than Der Stuka though. My husband has done them all and he says Summit Plummit is the most painful on landing as you bounce along at the bottom. M
y kids (who have both done them so I really am a coward as my 8 year old says!) prefer the one next to Summit Plummit (I think its slusher gusher) which is not so tall but has two bumps in it - they say you go airborne at these points and this is better!!!!!!! Needless to say I have not done that one either.
