I always travel with my Braun Gas Cylinder Curler, never had a problem, had my hand luggage security search lots of time and at the gate before boarding. I would think electric ones are ok. I also beleive that some of the restrive items the US banded following 9/11 have been lefted. Not sure what items, I think razors are now allowed.
