    Epcot Parking

Like a lot of people, we plan to do the Epcot Center over two days, one for Future World and the other for World Showcase. I know Epcot is big and it is a long trek from the car parks to the park itself. Our party has two seniors and while both are reasonably fit, I want to cut down unnecessary walking wherever possible. Can the experts please give me tips about where to park on each of the two days at Epcot? I don't want to have to walk all through the Future World complex to get to World Showcase unless there no other choice.

We parked at one of the other parks, and got the courtesy bus straight to the gates of Epcot.

Dont know if this is any help to you.[8D]

The car parks in Epcot have trams to take you right to the gates anyway so there isn't any more walking involved than going to one of the other parks, plus you have the advantage that if you are watching the fireworks, when they have finished you will only have to get the tram back to your car rather than the transportation.
I don't think there is anyway to avoid walking through future world to the world showcase, as there is only one entrance to Epcot.

You can hire buggies at Disney. They are not cheap but as it is such a big park with a lot of outdoors stuff-that if it is hot it might be worth considering.

Thanks very much, that is a really great idea! Please, where do I enquire about the buggies?

Just go to Guest Services, just inside the entrance to the park. They're on a first come, first served basis and unfortunately you can't reserve them in advance.

When I had my elderly mother-in-law with me (78), even though she didn't have a disabled badge for the car, I explained to the car park attendant at Epcot that she couldn't walk any distance and they let us park in the disabled area. I could also then drop her off really close to the gates and then park the car in a disabled space. They were really kind and didn't have a problem with this at all.

You can hire a scooter wheelchair for US$30 per day which is great for anyone with mobility problems and also great for those with them as no one has to push the wheelchair!!

If you are going to Universal or Islands of Adventure then make sure that you get the Valet parking. Even the disabled parking at these parks is quite some way from the parks, further than any of the Disney car parks. Valet parking costs US$16 per day, plus a couple of dollars tip, but is so lovely and easy and you are as close to the parks as you can possibly get.

There is a second entrance to Epcot at the World showcase, in between the France and UK pavilions. You can either walk or get a water bus to and from the Disney Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club resort, Swan and Dolphin hotels and also through to Disney-MGM park. As the boat leaves from the entrance of Disney-MGM you could always park at that park and get the boat through to the world showcase of Epcot.

We have found the tram systems in all of the car parks to be very efficient and haven't found epcot to be any worse than other parks. Even if you don't ask for the disabled parking slots if you explain to the parking CM I am sure that they would allow you to park at a row end by the tram, I think I remember seeing them do this for other guests.

For transportation and map information follow this link: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wal...sportationRoot

Even if they won't allow you park at the row end you can always
drop the seniors off at the tram and then park the car and walk back to them.

Try the following link for a satellitle photograph of Epcot (12 o'clock position in photo) and MGM (at about 7.30). You can see the dark water stretching between them.
