Thank you to everyone for their Anniversary wishes, that was lovely.

Julieanne, I'm guess Percy Pig are jellies, don't worry about .5 lb, I am sure that will be gone soon.
    Fiona the holiday sounds great!
Paula & Sally hope you feel better soon, and hope the IBS has settled Julie, sounds painful.

Well done on the weight loss Sharon. [clap]

    F/Diary:

    B: Porridge
L: Beef stir fry, with few little egg noodles
D: B/ked potato with fish and parsley sauce.
Snacks: Fun Size Bounty and Fruit

I felt wretched today, shocking headache after 4 glasses of champagne, plus drained because its that part of the month IYKWIM, hence the need for a wee taste of chocolate! The fact that it was 96oF AGAIN yesterday and the hottest night, it didn't drop below 70oF all night, meant we had the fans on full bore! Send me some of that snow, I swear I would dive into it right now and roll around naked!

Don't get me going on Trans Fats[msnmad][msnmad][msnmad]

I read the labels on everything and end up buying nothing unless its fresh[clap]

For those who missed the programme, trans fat is made when manufacturers add hydrogen to vegetable oil--a process called hydrogenation. Hydrogenation increases the shelf life and flavour stability of foods containing these fats.

Trans fat can be found in vegetable shortenings, some margarines, crackers, cookies, snack foods, and other foods made with or fried in partially hydrogenated oils. Unlike other fats, the majority of trans fat is formed when food manufacturers turn liquid oils into solid fats like shortening and hard margarine. A small amount of trans fat is found naturally, primarily in dairy products, some meat, and other animal-based foods.

Trans fat, like saturated fat and dietary cholesterol, raises the LDL cholesterol that increases your risk for CHD. Americans consume on average 4 to 5 times as much saturated fat as trans fat in their diets.

Although saturated fat is the main dietary culprit that raises LDL, trans fat and dietary cholesterol also contribute significantly.

So avoid anything containing hydrogenised anything!!!

    Yuk!!![sick][sick][sick][sick][sick]

Just munching on celery dipped in salsa[angel]

Trans fats is something the medics are very hot on once you have had a heart attack, my father was meant to watch his diet very carefully after his. He lost loads of weight after his quadruple bypass but 11 years later had given up and ate what he wanted - namely all the wrong things! He died of massive heart failure after an aneurism.

My other half and I have an annual no-kids visit to Bettys in York just before Christmas! They have a special Christmas menu which is yummy! Their Yorkshire Curd Tart is delicious. We always take the children a "Fat Rascal" each plus some other goodies..mmmm!

    Carole

Just not to be mean, we have been known to take the children at other times, but we combine our annual adults-only trip with some Christmas shopping[msnwink]

Still feeling grotty, just waiting for Rachel my 16 year old to come hoe and then it's off to bed[zzz]. Have got to be up at 4.30am [msnoo]as Hannah is off on a school trip to France tomorrow, will be going back to bed once she is off.

Never had the cottage pie, couldn't be bothered to make it. Just had some pasta instead.

    Well done Sharon[clap][clap][clap]

    Like the new avatar Liesa[msnsmile2]

When I am next visiting my sister in North Yorkshire I will be popping into Bettys [msnwink]

Good for you Fiona, I am going to have the same worry about my house when we go away in August, Rachel has told us she doesn't want to come away with us. Goodness knows how she is going to survive and my house, she is very clever but at times has no common sense[msnsad]
