Karen so very sorry to hear your news[grouphug], very upsetting I know. Our dog is one of the family and dread to think of anything happening to him.

I have been very good over the weekend with my eating and we have been so busy.

Big well done to Julieb, another 3lb is fantastic[clap][clap].

Karen I am so sorry to hear of your news, having oldies myself and our last one was also called Daisy. She died at 13½, and I believe this is a very good age for this breed - no consolation of course. We were fortunate to have another one at home, in that a wet nose was still being thrust in our face, but she was also in mourning and it is really horrible.

When there is only 1 it leaves such a big hole in your life, when the walking etc is so much a part of it. My 2 play with a beardie every day where I walk them in the morning, and they all absolutely adore each other. By pure coincidence, our Daisy's nephew had sired pups which were born the same day she died - and the mother was the sister of our younger dog. It seemed like fate and 8 weeks later we picked up Millie, who fitted in as if she had always been there, and transformed Lottie from moping for Daisy to a busy "mum" bossing the youngster around!

    Will be thinking of you[grouphug].

Sorry to hear your news Karen. Although I have a strict no pets rule we were brought up with various dogs over the years. As we lost a few when I was younger I made the decision not to have any myself, although I do love them.

Karen a big [grouphug] for you, I have never had a dog but I can imagine how you are feeling.

Hope you feel better soon but don't let this ruin you long term plans to get fit and healthy food wise, do it for Daisy if you don't feel like doing it for your self[grouphug]

    Take care[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]

I don't usually post much on this thread, but seeing this bit of topic, I felt I had too.
So sorry for your loss (I am sitting here tears running down my face[msncry]) We have no dogs,, we did have a cat and lost him a couple of years ago, his kidneys and liver were giving up and we also thought that the best thing was to have him put to sleep, vet agreed.
We arranged for the cat to come home for a few hours and the vet came and did the deed at our home.
The kids were devasted as we all were, I think the youngest saw it as the vet came and killed the cat[msneek]
At the time we thought it was the best thing, the cat hated the vets and so we needed to bring him home one last time.
I know how you feel, but we still have memories and photos to remember them by. So [grouphug][grouphug] for you and your family and know they suffer no more[msnsmile]

So many posts to read through today!!!

Karen, I'm so sorry for you. Our lovely rescued cat who we'd had for 12 years was put to sleep a few weeks ago. We were so upset, so I know where you're coming from.

On the slimming front, not a bad weekend overall, but did have a few chocs yesterday.
    [msnembarrased]

Very busy fortnight ahead workwise, so no opportunity to cheat during the day[msneek]. Hoping for a loss on Friday, when I plan to get weighed.

Julieanne-you sound a bit like me! Some weeks I'd just rather not know!!!!!!!

It's Monday again, so have a good week everyone.

Karen, just wanted to say how sorry i was to hear of your sad news, it took me back to when my darling Buster was put to sleep, he had been such a charactor in our lives, his birthday was 2 days after my first daughters Kerries, so he grew up with the kids, he was put to sleep more or less similar problems to yours and died when he was almost 15, my heart goes out to you as they become family!!

xxxxxx[grouphug][grouphug] thinking of you, you did the kindest thing for your dog.........
    Liesa
